Italy Prevails Over Australia in Stunning World Cup Finish


The women's team ripped the victory away from Australia to claim their first World Cup tournament game since 1999.

Italy pulled off a stunning comeback on Sunday, winning their first FIFA Women’s World Cup tournament game since 1999 with an extra-time victory over Australia, CBS News reports.

In a high-contact game that drew a combined 39 fouls, Italy emerged victorious when Barbara Bonansea scored at the 94 minute mark.

Bonansea scored twice over the course of the game to give Italy the last-gasp 2-1 victory.
