- 6 cups cubed day-old Italian bread
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 Tablespoon fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Topping (optional):
- Powdered sugar, maple syrup, fruit, chopped pistachios, and/or fruit sauce (strawberry, raspberry, or even orange)
