Recipe: Oven-baked Parmesan Crisps

This four-ingredient recipe is the easiest Italian appetizer you’ll ever bake.

Put down the greasy fried chips and enjoy this American twist on an old country delicacy: Parmesan Crisps! Enjoy this “grate” recipe as an appetizer, an on-the go snack, or paired with your favorite glass of wine.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 small block of parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of basil

Preparation

For this recipe, you’ll also need a grater, a mixing bowl and a nonstick sheet. If you don’t have a nonstick sheet, you’re going to need parchment paper.

Rachel’s Recipes Tip: It may be easier to get store-bought shredded Parmesan, but take the extra step to grate the block yourself. Pre-shredded cheese may contain an added ingredient that keeps the cheese from clumping together, which is the opposite of what we need for this recipe.

Directions

1.) Preheat the oven to 375 degrees

2.) Grate 1 cup’s worth of Parmesan

3.) Add the grated cheese into a mixing bowl with the flour, parsley, and basil

4.) Stir together until the cheese is coated with the flour and herbs

5.) Take 1 tablespoon’s worth of mixture and place it on the nonstick sheet four inches apart from each other to allow the cheese to spread when it melts

6.) Place the sheet into the oven for 5-8 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and the edges are golden brown

7.) Let the sheet cool for two minutes after taking it out of the oven

8.) Use a spatula to slide the Parmesan Crisps off

9.) Serve and enjoy!
