Mom & Pop Chicago Restaurant, RoSal’s, Closing After 30 Years

The iconic Italian eatery will shutter on May 13.

RoSal’s Italian Cucina, the iconic eatery that opened on Chicago’s Taylor Street 30 years ago, will shutter on May 13.

On May 1, 1990, the family-owned restaurant opened with pots, pans and cutlery from home, and quickly grew in popularity with dishes like:  Rigatoni Gambini, Shrimp Anival, and Veal Stepanjohhno.

“There is just so much to say about each person and family that has touched our lives; from getting engaged, rehearsal dinners, wedding celebrations, baby showers, baptisms and, retirements. We were so honored to be a part of your families’ celebrations and it has enriched our lives,” wrote owner Cyndi Fulco on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
